Upwards Of 153 Lives May Be Saved Through DLP Real Estate’s Company-Wide Blood Drive Efforts

On March 16, 2020, DLP Real Estate Capital held its first-ever company-wide blood drive. The drive took place at three separate locations: the Bethlehem, PA headquarters; St. Augustine, FL headquarters; and the DLP Brite Homes office in Orlando, FL. Two life-saving organizations were the recipients of the blood drive, The American Red Cross and One Blood.

Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 51 individuals donated blood, equating to 153 lives that may be saved from donors’ efforts. DLP Real Estate Founder and CEO Don Wenner commented, “I’m extremely proud of not only our own team members who rolled up their sleeves to donate, but also of those from our communities who did the same. It’s times like these that we all need to come together and do our part to help make a difference. Next year, I’m confident that we will easily double these numbers and save even more lives.”

Peter Brown, Executive Director of The American Red Cross Lehigh Valley-Bucks Chapter commented, “Nationwide, we have canceled over 1,700 blood drives, so your decision to hold this drive holds even greater value to those who need blood transfusions.”

Jaime Brezenec, from The American Red Cross Donor Recruitment commented, “In the Northeast PA region alone, we have experienced 27 canceled blood drives, resulting in 671 lost donations. Your drive truly came at a time where these donations are golden and urgently needed. Thank you for going forward as planned!”

DLP Real Estate’s 10th core value, stewardship, will continue to lead team members to act in extraordinary ways of helping others in their communities and beyond, especially during this extraordinary time in our history.
